What drives the growth

UzRTSB Chief Broker Islombek Ibragimov attributed the growth to the development of the jewelry industry and an increase in the number of large enterprises. According to him, gold has been sold through the exchange since 2019. At that time, small manufacturers with two to four employees produced jewelry; now the industry has reached an industrial level, and the number of factories is growing.

«Today, 90% of gold is purchased by jewelry industry enterprises. They buy gold in large volumes and produce a significant quantity of jewelry items,» Ibragimov explained.

Thus, approximately 90% of gold sold through the exchange is purchased by jewelry enterprises. It was previously reported that trading volume on UzRTSB increased by 29% over the year.
