What is Aster?
Aster is a decentralized derivatives exchange formed through the merger of several DeFi projects and launched the ASTER token in 2025. The platform allows trading perpetual futures with leverage directly from a crypto wallet.
How it works
The exchange operates across multiple networks and offers two modes: simple exchange at current price and professional trading through an order book. Liquidity is provided by pools where users deposit assets for a share of commissions. The ASTER token is used to reduce trading fees, staking, and platform governance participation.
Pros and cons
- Pros: rapid trading volume growth, multi-chain support, backing from notable industry players.
- Cons: fierce competition among derivatives DEXs, short project history, high volatility and regulatory risks of derivatives.
