What is Gram?

Gram (formerly Toncoin) is a coin of The Open Network (TON) blockchain. The project's key feature is deep integration with a major messenger: users can send coins in chats, buy digital goods, and use mini-apps without complex wallet setup.

How it works

TON is a Proof-of-Stake network with dynamic sharding: the blockchain automatically splits into parallel chains as load increases, ensuring high throughput. The coin is used to pay fees, for staking, purchasing anonymous numbers and names, and in games and ecosystem services.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: access to a huge messenger audience, high scalability, ease of use for beginners.
  • Cons: strong dependence on a single platform and its regulatory risks, competition with other networks, volatility.
