The IV Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held in Tashkent with the participation of approximately 420 companies, regional leaders, and representatives of business circles from both countries.
Key figures
Over the past decade, trade turnover between the countries increased 26-fold and reached $795 million by the end of 2025. The total portfolio of investment and trade projects exceeded $10 billion.
A notable ratio: the project portfolio is more than twelve times larger than annual trade turnover. This indicates that the main benefits from cooperation have yet to materialize and are concentrated in the investment rather than trade phase.
Priority areas
- industry and deep raw material processing;
- agro-industrial complex;
- textile industry;
- tourism and territorial development;
- trade and logistics.
Separate discussions covered the creation of complete value chains and localization of new production facilities.
Middle Corridor as a gateway to Europe
The parties explored opportunities to leverage the Middle Corridor potential to access European markets. For a landlocked country, transit routes through the Caspian Sea have strategic importance—they determine the cost and delivery time of export goods.
The practical part of the forum took place in B2B and G2B formats. As a result, it was proposed to develop joint action plans for 2026–2027; agreements reached were formalized through bilateral document exchange.
The event was attended by Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov.
