The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) plans to invest approximately $1.5 billion in Uzbekistan’s economy by 2031, aligning projects with demographic trends and urbanization. Shokhjakhon Yusupov, a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, announced this shift in planning approach.

A new approach to modernization

The focus is shifting from reactive infrastructure financing to forecasting needs. Funds will be directed toward the energy, transport, and utilities sectors. Since joining the EDB, more than half of the total amount ($800 million) has been earmarked for integration projects.
